New members are welcomed 

Tryouts for new swimmers will be held on

September 13th for 10 and under from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, 13 and over 6:30pm-8:30pm

September 14th for 11-12 year olds 4:30pm-7:30pm

 

 

 

Returning Athletes

 

·         First day of practice is September 7th 

·         The first 2 weeks of practice (September 7th – September 18th) will be a trial period to determine your place on the team. Coach Matt will determine your practice group based on the results of the two week period. NO ONE WILL BE CUT FROM THE TEAM

·         By September 18thh all athletes will be placed in their appropriate groups.

Bluestreaks Program Information

 

 

Novice Group

Start on September 8th 2010 until March 5th 2010

 

Practice times:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm

 

 Members:  $675     Non-members: $1050.00

Fee includes USS membership

 

Junior Group

Start on September 7th 2010 until April 3nd 2011

 

Practice times:

Monday – Thursday 5:30pm-7:00pm

Saturday 3:00pm-4:15pm

 

 Members: $725.00    Non-Members: $1100.00

Fee includes USS membership

 

Senior Group

Start on September 7th 2010 until April 3nd 2011

 

Practice times:

Monday – Thursday 7:00pm-9:00pm

Friday 4:15pm-6:15pm

Saturday 4:15pm-5:45pm

Intro Group/Stroke Clinic

Start on September 14th 2010 until March 5th 2011

 

Practices times:

Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm

 

 Members: $575     Non-Members: $920.00

 

 

Swim Team Groups

 

            Intro Group -Primary focus includes development of stroke mechanics and strength building to progress the swimmer to the next level. A minimum of two practices a week is suggested. These athletes will be included in our dual meet season.

 

            Novice Group - Primary focus is basic mechanics of the four strokes, starts and turns. This group is introduced to basic endurance conditioning, attention to breathing patterns, and familiarity with race situations. This group practices for approximately one hour.

 

            Junior Group - These swimmers continue to build on the foundations already mastered with increased focus on interval training. Constant drill work to perfect stroke technique, start and turn mechanics is covered. The length of practice time is one and one-half hours. The required practice attendance is three per week averaged over the entire season.

 

 

            Senior Group - Endurance, speed, and drills for technique on all strokes, turns, etc., and race strategies are covered. They train mostly hours per session. The required practice attendance is three per week averaged over the entire season.
